The Q5 has evolved from the Steppenwolf concept car first shown in 2000 based on the then-current A3. However, the final version is larger and has used a redesigned version of the A4 chassis.
The Q5 Audi will be ‘overtly sporty’ according to Audi AG’s chairman Dr Martin Winterkorn and forms part of the manufacturer’s 2015 aim to achieve 1.4 million vehicle sales per year.
